Appointment of Director
 

The Board of Brightview plc, ("the Company"), is pleased to announce the appointment of David Philip Laurie 
as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 6 November 2007.

Mr. Laurie, aged 43, founded the Brightview Group Limited, a leading UK Internet Service Provider and was 
the Chief Executive Officer of this business until the completion of its disposal by Brightview plc to 
British Telecommunications plc (“BT”) on 31 July 2007. Upon completion, Mr. Laurie resigned as a director 
of the Company and of Brightview Group Limited and entered into a service contract with BT under which he 
has provided consultancy services for a limited period in order to ensure a smooth transition. 
This handover period has now been completed and accordingly, Mr. Laurie is rejoining Brightview plc in order 
to assist the Board in evaluating potential acquisitions.


Charles Fairbairn, Chairman of Brightview, said:  “We are delighted to welcome David back to the Board after 
the successful completion of the sale to BT of the ISP business he founded. We look forward to working with 
him in the identification and acquisition of further profitable investments for Brightview”.

There is no information in relation to Mr. Laurie’s appointment required pursuant to Schedule 2 paragraph (g) 
of the AIM rules for Companies other than as follows:

Brightview Limited, of which David Laurie was a Director, became subject to an administration order in April 
2003 and subsequently the assets of the business were successfully sold by the administrators and the company 
dissolved on 26 April 2006. 

Mr. Laurie beneficially holds 1,144,241 ordinary shares representing 2.62% of the current issued share capital 
of the Company and 3,297,620 options.
